Access Bridge

This access bridge had been through several floods washing away some of its foundation thus, causing it to leak around its culvert tubes.  Eventually the stream would erode the bridge’s foundation to the point of failure.  Marco Concrete Lifting installed new culvert pipes, (rerouted the stream using a series of pumps to allow them to work without water flow), and applied a thick layer of gunite to the upstream and downstream sides of the bridge.  After the gunite cured a specified amount of time the bridge was grouted with a cementitious grout prepared onsite.

This photo shows the outlet side of the
bridge before gunite was applied.  The
small white pipes are tremie pipes for
the pressure grouting process.

After several passes the nozzleman has
almost completed the gunite application.
