Rock Fall Stabilization

Each rock fall stabilization project is different, some may require multiple layers of stabilization.  The following pictures show one such project.  Marco Concrete Lifting stabilized this highwall at a West Virginia surface coal mine using shotcrete, rock netting and rock anchors.

This is what this highwall looked like
before stabilization.

Here is another viewing angle of the
highwall before stabilization

Preparation cleaning with high-pressure
water and a special nozzle.  This is done
to remove any loose material and debris
insuring good adhesion of the shotcrete

Shotcrete is being applied over the
rockface as the first layer of
stabilization

Shotcrete application at project's edge
shows a definitive line

Rock netting is installed held in place
by rock anchors.  This layer catches any
material that the shotcrete does not stop
