Above is an example of machine base grouting. Grout is pumped below grade and under high pressure allowing greater support. This form of pressure grouting was used to give these parts manufacturing machines a sturdy foundation to attach to.

This is an example of compaction grouting to fill voids created by an abndoned mine in southern West Virginia. Holes are drilled to a specified depth, a tremie pipe is inserted, and grout injected, the tremie pipe is lifted in short increments as grout is injected. This process is repeated until voids are filled and proper compaction is achieved. |

This pressure grouting project entailed
drilling, sampling and lab testing to
verify the presence of a large void about
32 feet below. Compaction grouting
then pouring a new portion of the
mounting pad was necessary
to remedy this problem. Click the
