Pressure Grouting

pressure grouting

Above is an example of machine base
grouting.  Grout is pumped below grade
and under high pressure allowing greater
support.   This form of pressure grouting
was used to give these parts manufacturing
machines a sturdy foundation to attach to.

pressure grouting

This is an example of compaction grouting
to fill voids created by an abndoned mine
in southern West Virginia.  Holes are drilled
to a specified depth, a tremie pipe is inserted,
and grout injected, the tremie pipe is lifted in
short increments as grout is injected.
This process is repeated until voids are
filled and proper compaction is achieved.

This pressure grouting project entailed
drilling, sampling and lab testing to
verify the presence of a large void about
32 feet below.  Compaction grouting
then pouring a new portion of the
mounting pad was necessary
to remedy this problem.  Click the
picture above to see more pictures about
this project as well as other details.
