Morris Memorial - Slabjacking

Morris Memorial United Methodist Church had major settling of concrete slab under classrooms and offices.  A traditional concrete contractor gave them a quote of $70,000 to remove and repour the concrete slab - a four week process.  For less than 20% of the first quote, Marco Concrete Lifting was able to lift the structure and stabilize it in only 2 days!!

Original construction was on fill dirt that
allowed concrete slab to sink 4 inches.

Over 100 feet of offices and classrooms
are prepped for slabjacking.

After consulting blueprints, ductwork and
utilites are marked and grout holes drilled.

A lime grout slurry is pumped
beneath the concrete slab.

Interior classroom wall showing
cracks in mortar joints.

After slabjacking, cracks have
nearly closed up.

Horizontal crack was nearly
1/2 inch thick.

After procedure, no signs of
cracks are visible.

Bathroom wall showed the most
settling at over 3 inches.

After, floor has been raised
to original elevation.

Office showing same 3 inch
settlement.

Care was taken in order to raise
slab without disturbing ductwork.

Gaps at baseboard gave the crew a
reference point while slabjacking.

Concrete slab was successfully
raised back to original level.

Hallway showed extensive settling
with large cracks in mortar joints.

Same wall in hallway after slabjacking.
Cracks are completely closed.

40 years of settling was never
properly addressed.

Slabjacking allowed use of existing
concrete slab even in fractured state.

gaps.

Concrete raised over 1 inch.
Pre-existing carpet was salvaged.
