Pressure Grouting
One thing that you should understand is that there are a few different types of grouting, and they are all done under pressure. This makes the term ‘pressure grouting‘ a bit redundant, but it is used nonetheless. The idea behind all types of grouting is pretty similar however.
Basically you have a concrete or otherwise paved surface that is beginning to sag. You’ve seen it before; dips in the road that keep getting hit by cars or other traffic, and eventually they evolve into potholes. It is possible to stop them before they get to that, and this is where pressure grouting comes in.
The first step is to determine where the weak points are in the road, and then determine how they can be reinforced. Once the right spots have been found, it’s time to start drilling. Normally there will be multiple points where the surface can be reinforced, and they will all need to be drilled. Once this is done, it’s time to start the dirty work.
Grout will be forced into those holes under pressure using sophisticated equipment, and the grout will take form underneath the surface. It will fix the surface issues and breathe more life into a surface that may very well have been living on borrowed time. While this is a great process and one that will help out quite a bit, you should understand that it is not something you can do on your own.
This type of job will not only require a licensed contractor, it will require a contractor that is an expert in the field. The reason for this is that pressure grouting is not a simple process. It is in fact extremely complicated and the slightest mistake could end in serious problems such as simple cracks in the pavement that need to be patched, or even complete destruction of the pavement. Let’s be perfectly clear, new pavement is not pocket change. It is very expensive, and you want to do everything you can to preserve it.
So with that being said, you need to find a professional to work on your pavement and any form of grouting that you might be having done. Don’t go with a company just because they have the lowest price. This is the worst thing that you can do. Get to know the company before they do any work for you, and make sure they offer some sort of warranty on the work they do. As long as you follow those simple steps and make sure that you are being critical of your selection, you should have absolutely no problem finding a good company that will do a good grouting job on your surface.
